m88worldcups.comFormer Liverpool star John Arne Riise believes that Jurgen Klopp would “very much enjoy” the opportunity to manage the England National Team and predicts that the German coach will step into international management.

Despite having left the managerial position at Anfield, Klopp’s immense reputation continues to carry strong appeal, consistently linking him with a potential return to the touchline in a new role.

Liverpool Legacy Still Shapes the Conversation

Klopp’s nearly nine-year managerial tenure at Liverpool transformed the club’s modern identity.

He successfully turned The Reds into consistent contenders at the highest level, culminating in the Premier League title in the 2020 season, ending a 30-year wait for domestic supremacy.

When he decided to depart at the end of the 2023–2024 season, Klopp had delivered every major trophy available and restored Liverpool to the elite tier of European football.

Although his contract still had two years remaining, Klopp chose to step down of his own accord.

That decision was not driven by results, but by accumulated exhaustion.

In his farewell address, the German coach spoke openly about the immense pressure that eventually caught up with him.

Since leaving Liverpool, Klopp has taken on a senior strategic position within the Red Bull group as global head of football, overseeing a wide network of clubs rather than being directly involved from match to match.

Riise’s Belief: England Could Tempt Klopp

Riise believes that Klopp’s next step, if it happens, will almost certainly be at international level. In his view, England represents a very attractive option.

In his interview with Casinostugan, Riise stated that if Klopp were to return to coaching, he sees him as a national team manager rather than a club manager, because the intensity is far lower. He also believes that Klopp would be very interested in the England managerial position at some stage.

Riise acknowledged that Klopp’s legacy at Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool is already firmly established, meaning the heavy pressure of club football may no longer appeal to him.

He added that Klopp is someone who loves life and is passionate about everything he does.

While he would like to see Klopp coach again because of his energy and personality, Riise believes Klopp’s achievements are already at an extremely high level.

He feels that Klopp gave everything to Dortmund and Liverpool, making it difficult to imagine him achieving something even greater at another club.

According to Riise, Klopp’s job at Liverpool demanded enormous sacrifice, both mentally and physically, because he devoted all of his energy to the role.

Comfort in Life Away from the Touchline

For now, Klopp does not appear to be in any rush to prove Riise’s prediction correct. Despite being frequently linked with European giants such as Real Madrid, he has repeatedly shown that he is content with his current lifestyle.

His new role gives him distance from the intense pressure of weekly competition, although he has not completely ruled out a return to coaching.

In the podcast The Diary of a CEO, Klopp stated that he would not manage another club in England besides Liverpool, which theoretically still leaves a possibility, albeit a very small one.

Unlike many of his peers, Klopp does not view management as the central purpose of his existence.

He has openly admitted that the job eroded his personal life, removing the balance that he now values deeply.

In an interview with German outlet Welt, Klopp reflected on how a narrow focus shaped his career. He described himself as being inside a tunnel, far removed from normal life.

Now, he pays more attention to himself, enjoying a balance that was previously lost.

He emphasized that he no longer desires a managerial role like before, as he now has a job that remains challenging but is far more structured, something that also makes his family much happier.

No Immediate Signs of Klopp’s Return

Klopp’s name will almost certainly continue to surface whenever a major position becomes vacant, especially a prestigious role such as England National Team manager, which is currently held by Thomas Tuchel until the 2026 World Cup.

His charisma, tactical intelligence, and ability to build relationships with players make him an exceptionally appealing candidate in theory.

However, his own statements suggest that a return to the touchline would only occur under truly extraordinary circumstances.

For now, he appears to be enjoying a sense of calm, shaping football from a distance without having to live under extreme pressure every week.
